Forest View Guest House is the perfect Sabie Accommodation for travelers wishing to explore the Kruger National Park and scenic Panorama Route, including attractions such as the Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window, Pilgrim’s Rest and numerous Waterfalls. Forest View is conveniently situated in the Malaria Free town of SABIE, within walking distance of Shops, Restaurants & less than a kilometer from the Sabie Country Club.

We have secure parking on the grounds and Smoke-free accommodation. Smoking is permitted on the deck and in the garden.

About Forest View:

Forest View Guest House, previously known as Bauhinia, has been taken over by the Bergonzi Family in February 2008 . Since then the house has undergone a major facelift, taking us to a new standard. We are constantly striving to make Forest View a landmark in the Panorama area, and will be taking on new challenges & projects to extend and better our product.

Danny & Annelise Strydom are the resident Management couple, with 14+ years experience in the Hospitality industry, at Exclusive institutions and Game Lodges, ranging from 5star grading to Relais & Chateaux, thus promising to give you unforgettable service.

For Danny & Annelise, this wonderful guest house is the building of a dream for the future and they aim to put Forest View on the map for both South Africans and Overseas Tourists visiting the Panorama Route.

Together with the Staff: Tiki, Lettie & Christina, the utmost will be done to ensure that your stay with us is comfortable, relaxing and satisfying.

Accommodation:

Our Standard of Accommodation stands out in Sabie. We cater for 12-14 guests in individually decorated, comfortable rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Guest amenities include DSTV Hotel Bouquet, Coffee making facilities, Hair Dryers & Night Lights. The Main area is on the upper floor, offers a lounge area with Satellite Television, a deck with a view & a self service Tea & Coffee Station. We pride ourselves in our level of service and offer a set breakfast with a difference. You will be treated to a creative breakfast each morning should you book our breakfast option with your stay. You are welcome to let us know in advance of your likes and dislikes and we will cater to your needs.

Forest View Guest House is also the ideal stay-over accommodation for the Motorcycle Enthusiasts as SABIE is in the hub of the favorite Bikers' Routes.

Various Cycling and Mountain bike challenges are held in and around Sabie.

We are convinced that you will enjoy your stay with us as you explore this part of the Mpumalanga Panorama Route, and as so many previous guests, visit us again and again.

  • General:

The main area of the Guest House comprises of a Dining area, a Lounge with a fireplace & DSTV Hotel-Bouquet. There is a deck with a view of the surrounding forest areas. Parking is provided on the property.

Forest View offers 6 en-suite bedrooms.

Accommodation may be booked as “room only” or “bed & breakfast”.

Self Catering Facilities are available with some of the accommodation.

Forest View may also be booked out completely as a Self Catering option in which event the main kitchen will be available for catering use.

Double Rooms

The Double rooms are situated on the first floor of the house.

Room 1:

This room consists of a Queen-size & single bed, en-suite bathroom with a shower & corner-bath with his and hers basins, as well as a Vanity/Dressing room. DSTV Hotel-Bouquet is available in the room as well as Tea/Coffee making facilities.
This spacious room is ideal for a couple with a young child or booked as a honeymoon suite.

Room 2:

This sunny room consist of a Queen-size bed with en-suite bathroom. (Bath, with shower in the bath) DSTV Hotel-bouquet is available in this room as well as Tea/Coffee making facilities.

Room 3:

Beautiful room with a Double Bed with en-suite bathroom (shower only). DSTV Hotel bouquet is available in this room as well as Tea/Coffee making facilities.

TWIN ROOM
Room 4:

The Twin room is situated on the ground floor (separate from the Self-Catering unit) It does have easy access to/from the Self-Catering unit and can be used in conjunction with the Self Catering unit.

This room consists of 2 Single beds and an en-suite bathroom (shower only). DSTV Hotel bouquet is available in this room as well as Tea/Coffee making facilities.

 
  • Self-Catering/ Family Unit:

Our Self-Catering unit is situated on the ground floor of the house and consists of 2 rooms.

This Unit may also be booked on a “Bed and Breakfast” basis.

Room 5 :

Double bed with en-suite bathroom (Shower only). DSTV Hotel bouquet is available in this room.

Room 6 :

Queen size bed with an additional single bed with a private bathroom (Bath & Shower).

A lounge/dining area as well as a kitchenette is part of this unit. There are braai facilities available in the outside garden area.

HOT AIR BALOONING:
A 4 Hour breathtaking experience floating along at wind speed.

 


HORSE TRAILS:
For Beginners as well as experienced riders, ride through the Sabie valley along scenic trails. Bookings essential.

GRASKOP BIG SWING & HIGHWIRE:
Conquer your Fear!!!!!!! Experience the adrenaline of a 68 metre frefall in under 3 seconds on one of the world's highestcable gorge swings or fly across the gorge on a 135m highwire "foefie slide", 130m above ground zero and witness the breathtaking Graskop falls as never seen before.


SABIE BRIDGE SWING:

On This extreme activity, you are required to climb over the bridge railing of the 30meter high SABIE FALLS BRIDGE and jump back as far as you can, to end up swinging into the picturesque gorge of the Sabie Falls, screaming as far as gravity will allow you to utter a sound. You will be kitted out with a full body safety harness, before you are assisted by the adventure guides in taking flight for a few breath-taking minutes.

WATERFALL ABSEIL:
The Waterfall abseil takes you down a rock face of 25 meters, almost within touching distance of the stunning SABIE FALLS .

 

As you lower yourself down the Rock-face, you will have the cool, refreshing spray of the waterfall in your face, and the deafening roar of thousands of litres of water cascading down the rocks, in your ears.

KLOOFING:

An Activity for the adventurous! Go on a Mac Mac River adventure hike in deep gorges and explore areas uninhabited by man while enjoying yourself: rock hopping, bum sliding, pool crawling, hiking, river traversing and throwing yourself over the edge into breathtaking pools.

 

Duration: 4-5 hours, cold beverages and snacks included.

Minimum Age: 15 years

TUBING:

This Extreme avtivity takes you hurtling down the frothing, white rapids of the Sabie River on a Tube! With rapids like OMO & HELL'S GATE, your adrenaline will be kept pumping for 3 hours. To end your experience, you get to go down the Bum Slide which is approximately 20 meters long.

 

Included in the Rate are your tube, wetsuit (during winter), helmet, lifejacket and highly efficient river guides.

CAVING BY CANDLELIGHT:

If you are into crawling around in muddy, dark holes and tunnels with only a candle in your hand, this one's for YOU! Caving by candlelight entails a 2-3 hour adventure. You will be armed with an over-all, a helmet and 1 candle for this muddy activity. You'll be taken through some tunnels, where you can walk upright; into a few large chambers; down muddy bum slides; and through smaller tunnels, such as the DRAIN PIPE, where you will be required to "Snake Slither" your way out.

Please bring along some old clothes and a pair of old shoes.

QUAD ADVENTURES:

Explore our beautiful area on a FOUR-WHEELER.

There are quad trails available which are suitable for novice or experienced riders.

The Quads are 250cc semi-automatic and reasonably easy to ride. It is recommended that riders are at least 16 years old.

Book 48 hours or less in advance and qualify for our LATE booking special. R195.00 per person sharing Applicable to all BEDrooms. The Family/Self Catering unit (sleeps 5) are at a special rate of R600.00 per night. All exclude breakfast.

Directions

How to get to us: From Oliver Tambo International Airport: travel on R21 towards Boksburg and then turn onto the N12 East towards Witbank. At Witbank the N12 now becomes the N4. Continue on the N4 towards Belfast. *see directions below. From Pretoria: from the N1 motor-way take the N4 turn-off towards Witbank. Continue on the N4 all the way to Belfast. see directions below. take the turn off to Belfast(R33) and go through the town. Turn right onto the R540 towards Dullstroom. You will pass through Dullstroom and will eventually get to Lydenburg, where you will drive through the town until you see the “Sabie, Hazyview” sign (R37). Turn Right. Go through the Long-Tom pass and about 10km from Sabie the Route-number will become the R537. Once in Sabie, see the map attached. From Nelspruit: take the R40 Route towards White River. Turn left onto the R537 towards SABIE. Follow this road all the way to the T-Junction (+\- 47km). Turn left towards Sabie. We are situated on the right-hand side +\- 300 meters from the junction.
