Relax in the open lounge overlooking a sparkling pool, with the roar of our large three sided wood burning fireplace behind you. Unwind in the custom designed Sports Bar with vent-less gas fire and enjoy a first rate meal in the intimate dining room.
Choose from one of the many golf courses in the area. The closest including Pezula and Simola. Transport is available to those further afield, such as Fancourt, Goose Valley, Plettenberg and more.
For the non-golfer, a week of sightseeing is easy to fill, and can include shark cage diving, hiking, cycling, riding or walks on the many uninterrupted beaches. For the thrill seekers bungy jumping, abseiling, paragliding and much more, are readily available.
Dinner is available upon request at a set price of R150 per person excluding drinks. We do not encourage children under 12 years of age (although we do have 2 family rooms with sleeper couches). AttractionsKnysna nestles on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in the heart of the Garden Route of South Africa. It is surrounded by a natural paradise of lush indigenous forests, tranquil lakes and golden beaches, making it a real natural wonderland. Things you can do include: - Golfing in the Garden Route. Garden Route golf is fast becoming the golfing Mecca of South Africa with 14 new golf courses in the planning to final development stages. Big name designers like Ernie Els and Jack Nicklaus feature prominently in the design of these new golf courses
- The Knysna Heads - go for a walk along the Heads and see the panoramic views of the town and lagoon.
- A ferry ride across the Lagoon is a great way to see the Knysna Heads and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve.
- Beaches - There is no beach in Knysna itself, but the coast surrounding Knysna has some really beautiful places to visit for the day. Visit Brenton-on-Sea, Buffalo Bay, Bollard Bay on Leisure Isle, and the beach and estuary at Noetzie.
- Whale and Dolphin Watching - The Knysna coastline is home to one of the highest diversity of marine mammals in the world - including whales and dolphins.
- Abseiling - Knysna has awesome scenery and what better way to experience it then abseiling the cliffs at the Heads.
- Diving - Diving along the Knysna coastline is a great experience. Contact a local dive shop for information before going diving.
- Cycling and Mountain Biking - Knysna offers cyclists some great mountain bike trails.
- Sailing - With over 18 square kilometres of lagoon, and a tidal system of over 1.7 metres (five feet) Knysna draws sailors from far and wide who enjoy swapping stories at the third oldest yacht club in South Africa, with its most hospitable 'bar'.
- Monkeyland is unique as a primate sanctuary. It is home to many varied species of monkey from several continents which were bred in captivity prior to their release at Monkeyland.
- Elephant Park - The experience is somewhat of a closer kind than at Kruger or Addo – visitors are allowed to touch and feed the elephants, Harry, Sally and Duma.
- Horse Riding - Knysna offers breathtaking trails. There are a number of riding schools in the area catering for both the novice and experienced riders. Each school offers its own unique horse riding trail. Choose from forest, coastal, fynbos and mountain trails.

An ideal venue for wedding parties from 6 to 100 guests. Catering may be in-house or brought in. Choose from a menu including spit roast buffet meal or 3 course. Accommodate the immediate wedding party families for the entire weekend. Ceremony can be held on site around the pool. Special rates available for inclusive booking. At House Hammond we offer a full wedding planner service, or partial options to suit your needs. Wedding Party Accommodation: We can accommodate your immediate wedding party of up to 16 adults (plus 4 - 6 children). Our facilities include 2 spectacular Honeymoon Suites.
Catering: In house catering can be arranged to suit budget. Choose from a sit down 3 - 5 course meal for a maximum of 20 people to a full hot & cold buffet for up to 100. Your own catering can also be bought in to facilitate your needs.
Music: Live or 'canned' music can be ordered, ranging from dance/disco to 4 piece live jazz band or low key vocals and guitar. Whilst there is ample space for indoor dancing, you may want to consider the option of the outdoor dance floor covering the swimming pool.
Bar: Our in house bar is full stocked for your own account. Should you wish you may bring your own bar staff and stock.
Wedding Flowers: Arrange your own selection or allow our staff to select and design for you.
Make Up and Hair: The immediate wedding party (up to 8) may have their hair and makeup done in the comfort of the Lodge.
Wedding Ceremony: Have your ceremony performed 'In House', either on the pool deck or (for smaller weddings) in the large open plan lounge.
DINING ROOM
Relax in the open dining-room overlooking the deck around the pool. Enjoy a superb 3-course meal by appointment. We can seat up to 30 or you could have an intimate dinner for two on our secluded, private deck. KITCHEN
The custom-built kitchen is fitted with an under-bar fridge and freezer, and is fully stocked for midnight feasts. Take advantage of the user-friendly cooking facilities to indulge in a late night snack from breads and cheeses to scrambled eggs or casseroles of your own creation. Open 24 hours. Spoil yourself with a late night Irish coffee or cappuccino.
PRIVATE PARTIES
Host your own special party around the four-sided log fire and pool-deck. Catering is offered from snacks to a 3-course sit down meal. Fully serviced bar available.
BAR/LOUNGE
Relax in the well-appointed, fully stocked sport’s bar. DSTV, DVD's and a large selection of music are at your disposal, also a large range of vintage wines for the discerning pallet. We also have a WIFI internet connection.
