Set at the foot of the majestic Helderberg and against the rugged Hottentots Holland Mountains, the owner-managed Guest House nestles in the heart of Parel Vallei, a safe and up market residential suburb of Somerset West. With only 20 minutes from Cape Town International and 40 minutes from the heart of Cape Town, the Blue Crane Bed and Breakfast / Guest House is the perfect accommodation venue from where guests can explore the Western Cape.

The Blue Crane Bed and Breakfast / Guest House is an owner-managed, five bedroom B&B and self catering accommodation provider. The newly completed rooms were custom build with elegant finishes, comfort, individuality and privacy in mind. The Blue Crane Guest House was awarded a 4 star grading by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.

Off street parking is provided and a separate entrance to each guest room ensures that guests can come and go as they please. Situated in the safe and secure Parel Vallei residential area, guests can relax in unsurpassed privacy. With the historic blue-gum trees towering throughout, the 2100m² property is blessed with added protection and shelter against the prevailing summer winds.

The very private and lush garden with sparkling main pool, 8-seater heated cocktail pool and covered pool patio with BBQ facilities are exclusively for the guest’s use. The Helderberg Mountain in the background completes the picture and creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere, epitomizing extreme tranquility.

The Guest Lounge with a fully stocked honesty bar, TV, library and Information desk is a popular meeting place during the cooler evenings.

A free Wireless Hotspot for Internet connectivity is available in all rooms, the guest lounge as well as under the pool gazebo. Fax, e-mail and broadband Internet facilities are available in the reception area during the day.

Accommodation

Five luxuriously furnished double bedrooms and one apartment make up the exclusive accommodation offered at the Blue Crane Bed and Breakfast / Guest House in Somerset West. All Guest rooms are non-smoking, have air condition, satellite TV, a private bathroom and separate entrances. A kitchenette is standard in all rooms, making the Blue Crane Guest House suitable for Bed and Breakfast as well as self-catering accommodation.

The newly completed rooms were custom build with elegant finishes, comfort, individuality and privacy in mind.

The luxury double rooms all have a private bathroom, fully tiled and with a generous walk in shower. Two rooms are available with shower and bath. The tastefully decorated rooms all have a TV including satellite channels and are furnished with extra-length king-sized beds (twin mattresses), offering superior accommodation. Twin beds are available on request.

The kitchenette, fully equipped for light self-catering needs, includes a dining nook/table, microwave, Mini Bar, Toaster as well as Tea and Coffee-making facilities, thus making the Blue Crane Guest House suitable for self-catering as well as B&B accommodation.

Hair Dryers, a small Safe and Air Conditioning units for heating and cooling are standard in all rooms and the entrance to the individual guest rooms is from a private and separately furnished garden patio, enabling guests to come and go as they please, without disturbing fellow guests.

The very private and air-conditioned apartment consists of two rooms, a separate bathroom and an exclusive covered garden patio with a braai (BBQ) facility. It offers luxury accommodation in a generous double bedroom with a king-sized, extra-length bed and a second room with a private lounge/dining area and kitchenette. Independent satellite TV is available in both rooms.

A Lounge with a fully stocked bar, the sparkling main pool, 8-seater heated cocktail pool and covered pool patio with BBQ facilities are exclusively for the guest’s use.

To ensure that guests are always connected we have wireless Internet in all the rooms. A Conference venue is available throughout the year.

A wireless Hotspot for Internet connectivity is available throughout the Blue Crane Guest House and fax, e-mail and broadband Internet is available in the reception area during the day. A small library in the Guest lounge provides an ever-changing selection of books and houses a good variety of reference books. For the more energetic guests we have an Al fresco mini gym under the palm trees.

Our conference facility is an ideal Somerset West venue to host a conference, workshop or an intimate business meeting for up to 12 delegates. We cater for sit down board meetings, lectures, product launches, product training and team building. Conference delegates can enjoy snacks and light meals in the lounge or under the covered pool terrace.

Our conference room is equipped with facilities including: Flat screen TV and DVD player, conference tables and chairs, white board and pens, flipcharts and pens, high speed wireless broadband Internet and complimentary mineral water, juice, fresh coffee, tea and mints.

Should accommodation be required for all delegates, additional accommodation is networked with fellow Guest Houses in close proximity.
