Blinkwater holiday flat snugly nestles between the towering mountain, lushly covered with the world famous Cape fynbos as backdrop, and close against the sea and rocky coastline in front. Close by you will find the Palmiet river and the Palmiet beach that can be reached after a 800 yard leisurely stroll through the Kleinmond nature reserve, along a picturesque boardwalk gently sloping over rocks and shrubbery, whisking one effortlessly through nature. Towards the left, 350 yards away, lies the little harbour for small fishing vessels that merrily hum into the bay in the mornings, and wearily return later, midst noisy shrieking seagulls, begging for a titbit to come their way.

This sets the stage for a wonderful relaxing stay, close to nature, close to the locals, close to the local curio shops and numerous relaxing activities, close to restaurants and pubs, but also close enough to briskly slip away to larger places like Hermanus, Cape Town Waterfront, Caledon Casino, Strand/Gordon's Bay or the Stellenbosch Wine Routes. And, Oh yes, do not forget the local Overberg wine cellars!!

This is the view one enjoys from the master bedroom. Do whale watching from your bed. The entrance hall has double doors that can be opened to emphasize the closeness to the waves.

No smoking is allowed in the flat. Smoking in the braai room only or in the private courtyard.   Small pets allowed when fully house trained and after prior arrangement.   54cm. Sony colour TV with remote. SABC channels. VCR available through the system in building.
On Site Facilities
Children of all ages are welcome. Babies up to two years not using a bed, are not charged for.   Microwave, two plate stove, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, double door fridge/freezer, fully equipped kitchen with crockery and cutlery, pots and pans.
Local Facilities
We are close to a sports pub. Bar facility also available at the Beachhouse Hotel.   We are between two beaches. Kleinmond main beach 3km away and the very beautiful Palmiet beach 500m away along a boardwalk through a part of the Kleinmond Nature Reserve.   There are beauty salons in town.   Mountain bikes are available in town.   Caledon Casino spa nearby.   Entertainment in high season available in town. Otherwise available in Hermanus or else in Cape Town.   Rock angling as well as fishing from boats. Lobster diving in season.   Kleinmond boasts a very beautiful 9 hole golf course right against the mountain, otherwise one can visit the very exclusive Arabella 18 hole golf course 12 km away.   Kleinmond boasts various hiking trails, ranging from a 4km comfortable boardwalk along the rocky shoreline, to day hikes in the delightful fynbos along the mountain. Also on beach, along river and in forest. Beautiful views.   Horse rides are available. Rides from Kleinmond along the beach can be arranged.   Various shops selling curios, wild flowers, wines (from the Overberg district) as well as very beautiful handmade pottery, can be found in town.   Tours can be organised after previous arrangement.   In the buffer zone of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve boasting 1600 species of plants. Harold Porter Botanical Garden. Some 360 bird species can be seen. African Penguin colony at Stony Point. Rooisand Bird Sanctuary. Wild vlei horses. Whale watching from your bedroom.
