The Farm Inn is a privately owned Country Hotel and Conference Centre with 83 rooms and suites on the eastern outskirts of Pretoria, just 20 minutes from Central Pretoria, and 50 minutes from Johannesburg.  The Farm Inn is a great getaway, an ideal conference venue or the perfect setting for your wedding.  The Farm Inn has that special extra something - a wildlife sanctuary with 23 species including Lion, Leopard and Cheetah.

Nestling on a rocky outcrop under the African sun and built of thatch, stone and natural materials, the exclusive Farm Inn exudes an African stone palace atmosphere and is set in park like grounds on a private game sanctuary. Guests may relax in the beautiful ambience of the lounge or bar, for a truly African experience. Both are well appointed and offer a peaceful respite after a long day. Enjoy a sundowner, cocooned in the high, stone walled thatch roof, with the comfort of exquisite furnishings intimately grouped for your requirements.
 

Pedro & Rose Michaletos bought the original property in 1979 to breed Arabian Horses. At that time there was just a single storey thatched house, no road, no power and no telephone. Pedro brought the Palm Trees from the Hellenic Hotel (which Pedro previously owned in Central Pretoria) and planted them in Farm Inn soil. His thoughts were “if the trees grow, then we’ll grow”

It took three years for Pedro to get permission to open a small inn, incorporating the original house & converting the stables which he had built. Disaster hit in 1984 when a major fire destroyed most of the 10 bedroom guesthouse. Reconstruction started immediately and a year later the Farm Inn reopened.

The Farm Inn has grown over the years to its current size – the original 21 hectares have been increased to 108 hectares (267 acres). There are now 83 bedrooms, 17 function venues, 2 chapels, 3 boma’s and a “Bosberaad” venue in between the Animal enclosures. The a la carte Restaurant has won numerous prizes.

Every Part of the Farm Inn has its own bit of history!

The varieties of 85 rooms are all individually decorated, all with bathroom en suite and some with an open log fireplace. Most of the rooms lead directly onto the tranquil gardens and others have their own private veranda or balcony.

 Accommodation

The Farm Inn country hotel is a spread of thatched complexes & individual buildings, built from natural rock and railway sleepers, combined with beautiful floral prints & solid wooden furniture. Restful thatch & natural airflow combine to ensure that the rooms are warm in winter & cool in summer.

LUXURY SUITES
These 4 luxurious units are separate from the rest of the rooms, two units upstairs and 2 units downstairs. With a king size bed, full en suite bathroom, private balcony or verandah and an open log fireplace; these rooms are also the Hotel's Honeymoon Suites. Family units are also available with a double bed and 2 x single beds upstairs. Air-conditioners are available in some of the units.

DE LUXE ROOMS
De luxe Rooms are perfect for the winter evenings. With king, queen and double beds available; en suite bathroom and a fireplace these 14 units are perfect for a special evening or to spoil oneself. The rooms are all newly refurbished with either a balcony or verandah.

STANDARD ROOMS
Some of these rooms are built around the swimming pool. Each complex is different with either 2 x single beds; 2 x double beds; 1 x double bed or a family unit. The family unit consists of a double and twin beds with 2 x single beds in a loft area with 2 x separate bathrooms, perfect for the family. All standard rooms have an en suite bathroom. There are 37 units available.

At the moment there are 23 species at the Private Game Sanctuary. Many of these species can be viewed by going on a game drive with experienced Game Rangers.

The Farm Inn is famous as a venue for that special function. Whether it's your end of year party, a product launch, cocktail party or any other function our co-ordinators will work with you to make everything perfect.

We offer a variety of choices - a braai in one of the bomas or a formal lunch or evening function in one of the venues.

Air-conditioning is available in some of the venues, as well as fire places

Conference

The 17 conference/function rooms vary in size and can be configured into a dining hall for a wedding/function or into a professional environment for a conference.

The Lion Camp Conference room provides a private breakaway in the bush and the garden is ideal for informal breakaway sessions.
