Island Vibe offers guests a wide choice of accommodation and prices. Our house on top of the dune holds all the dorms, ranging from 4 to 10 and 12 sleepers. Prices vary between R100 and R110 per person per night. All beds are comfortably made with duvets and pillows. Campers have both the view over the ocean as well as being ideally located in the garden. The price for camping is R60 per person per night. No bedding is provided.

For anyone wanting privacy on a budget we have ideal rustic garden cabins and a cheaper en suite twin at R240 per room per night. Each one offers exellent views, and the cabins have their own little balcony overlooking Main Beach.

The crème de la crème of backpacking accommodation is found right here too – at the foot of the dune, with a glorious panorama of the beach, sea and surf. Each en-suite room opens onto a balcony allowing the sight, sound and smell of the waves to be your first encounter of the day! The rooms are all versatile in that they have a double and single bed, giving the options of twin, double or triple configurations. Prices vary accordingly from R350 to R550 per room per night. The cherry on top if that you can order breakfast in bed, arranged the night before with the bar staff!!!

 Wish you were living on the beach.  Well never has that wish been easier to grant.  Island Vibe Backpackers Hostel has the most incredible location in Jeffreys Bay. It is quite literally perched on a sand dune overlooking the Indian Ocean.  Kitchen Windows – an awesome surf break for first timers and pro surfers - is a mere trot down the dune; and swimming is a stone’s throw away. Many mornings you will wake to dolphins lolling past or zipping through waves; during July to October the Southern Right Whale comes to play in the bay clearly visible from one of the hostels secluded decks.

The atmosphere at Island Vibe continues the whole beach/Island life style theme.  Supported by awesomely friendly staff, a bar that can go off second to none, and a whole load of activities and adventures to enjoy, one almost wants to call it a resort – but in a backpacker sort of way!  Catch a wave on a rental surfboard, take a surf lesson with Jeffreys Bay Surf School to get to grips with what it’s all about, beach horse rides to blow your mind, sand boarding, kite surfing…. WOW! If its downtime you need, quiet areas are abundant: find a deck, laze on the lawn, play some pool or wander down to the beach on the hostels doorstep.

Backpacker Hostel

Island Vibe Backpackers Hostel offers guests a wide choice of accommodation and prices. Our house on top of the dune (Main building) holds all the dorm accommodation, ranging from 4 – 12 sleepers. All accommodation includes duvets and pillows to make your stay with us a comfortable one. This is also where backpackers can grab something to eat from our restaurant or make something in the communal kitchen. The Island Vibe bar, TV room & communal ablution area form the centre of the main building.

Camping

Campers have both the view of the ocean as well as being ideally located in the garden close to all the amenities. No bedding or camping gear is provided. This is a firm favorite amongst backpackers who love the great outdoors and sleeping under the stars. Come pick your spot on our big lawn. 

Garden Cabin

Our awesome garden cabins which have a double bed and are not en suite offers a cheaper option for anyone wanting privacy and is on a budget. Each one offers excellent views of the ocean, and has their own little balcony overlooking Jeffreys Bay Main Beach. We also have an en suite twin room at Island Vibes main building for those who need a bit of comfort to go with their privacy.

The Beach House

Hostel accommodation that’s a class above the rest is also found here - at the foot of the dune, with a glorious panorama of the beach, sea and surf. Each en suite room of the beach house opens onto a balcony allowing the sight, sound and smell of the waves to be your first encounter of the day. The accommodation is all versatile in that they have a double bed and bunk bed, giving the option of twin, double, triple or 4 sleeper configurations.

FlashPackers

 The crème de la crème of hostel accommodation is found right here too – Island Vibe offer the latest “craze” in backpacking…….Flashpacking! Same vibe as the traditional backpackers hostel, but with all the extras - Large comfy beds, white linen, towels and lots more. This is the place to settle down and really treat yourself while having fun & meeting other likeminded travelers. Flashpacking is the way to go if you feel like you deserve that little more.

Attractions

Surfing

Jeffreys Bay is an obvious choice for surfers, being Africa's surf capital and your ideal all year surf destination. Plus there are perfect breaks in the area for all grades of surfers. Supertubes is the most famous break, and while not the ideal wave to surf unless you are very sure of yourself, it definitely is worth watching others rip their stuff. The annual Billabong Pro is held here every July which gives you the perfect opportunity to see world pro’s surfing at their best.

Luckily for us and other wannabe surfers, “Kitchen Windows” is at the base of Island Vibe’s dune. This awesome right-hand beach break offers magnificent clean 2-4' waves and even at it’s smallest, is loads of fun. But when the surf is down this side we’ll always try and make a plan to shuttle you to other local breaks. Seal Point in St Francis is worth an exploration as is Bruce’s - the legendary break of 'Endless Summer' fame.

Surf lessons are a must if you have never tried this sport before. With a sure bet you’ll stand on your first lesson and from there you are bound to be hooked ever after. Jeffreys Bay Surf School is based at Island Vibe and offers daily 2 hour lessons with a professional instructor. If it really grabs you, join our week long surf camp and fill your life with endless wave searching, board waxing and beach bumming!

Horseriding

Take saddle to 14 kilometers of deserted beaches with the opportunity to spot whales and dolphins along the way. The trail follows natural dunefields, where at times the tall dunes engulf you. After heavy rains these dune fields are filled with sparkling emerald pools. Go at your own pace - easy stroll or gallop with the wind in your hair, the guide stays with the slowest!

Jeffreys Bay has long been known to our local and national communitirs as a shopper’s paradie. The likes of Country Feeling – the first exclusively J-Bay label – and later Billabong, as anchors in this surfing town has created in itself a reason for visitors to stop over. Other world renowned brands, namely Quicksilver and Ripcurl, have since joined the collection of fantastic clothing wear.
