Description

Merry Pebbles Resort is situated on the banks of the Sabie River within the municipal boundary of the mountain village Sabie. Sabie is situated 1050m above sea level on the Mpumalanga Escarpment within the Panorama route and is malaria and bilharzia free.

Sabie is in a summer rainfall area with an average of 1000mm of rainfall annually. Summer temperatures range from an average minimum of 18ºC to a maximum average of 31ºC whilst the winter average low temperatures are 3ºC and average high’s of 23ºC

At Merry Pebbles you will find a selection of AA Highly Recommended self catering accommodation as well as 3 star graded caravan and camping sites. With a fully licensed a la Carte’ restaurant onsite, dinner, lunch, and breakfast is served thus accommodation on a b&b basis is also available.

Merry Pebbles offers the traveller more than just a stop over, the resort is in itself a holiday destination with facilities ranging from heated and cold water pools to play parks and hiking trails. Sabie is centrally situated in the Panorama Route allowing easy access to all the tourist attractions within the vicinity including day trips to the Kruger National Park only 52km away.

Drakensburg / Tulbach: (sleeps 4 adults), two bedrooms (1x double bed, 2x single beds and linen), bathroom (bath & shower, toilet, basin, towels), living area (sleeper couch, linen), kitchen (three plate stove with oven, microwave oven, fridge, cutlery and crockery). (Provide own swimming towels)

Cabana: (sleeps 2 adults, 2 children), open plan bachelor flat, (1x double bed or 2x single beds, 1x double bunk with linen), bathroom (bath & shower, toilet, basin, towels), kitchenette (two plate stove with small oven, bar fridge, cutlery and crockery). (Provide own swimming towels). The units are in blocks of four, back to back.

 Caravan and camping sites: (maximum 8 persons and 2 vehicles per site) level sites, all with 15amp three-pin plug, braai / BBQ (supply your own grid, as well as TV antenna). Four large ablution facilities, three sculleries, laundromat as well as a chemical disposal dump are provided on site.

Nestling on the banks of the pristine crystal clear Sabie River against a backdrop of lush vegetation - a bird watcher’s paradise - we offer a wide variety of activities for all the family. If you simply want to relax , you can relish the freedom as your children play in the pools or at the play - park or fish or tube on the river. Whether you like trout fishing or tennis, there is something for you to do. The more energetic can take to the Loerie Hiking Trail, the mountain bike trail or you can make use of the local Sabie Country Club where free temporary membership is available while staying at Merry Pebbles. The local club offers golf, squash, bowls, and a full size snooker table.

Heated and cold water swimming pools as well as the water slides are some of the star features at the resort. A recreation hall with table tennis, pool tables, and TV will provide fun for everyone.
